Lawsuit Hits Kodak on O.T. Pay
- Date: August 8, 2003
- QUOTE: So-called "comp time" for hourly employees in the private sector is generally illegal under state and federal laws, lawyers and other experts say.
- ABSTRACT: Current and ex-employees have sued photographic services giant Kodak alleging that the company has for many years cheated them out of overtime by offering "comp time" (time off) in place of being paid time and a half. Though this practice violates both federal and New York State laws, it is not uncommon in American business.
