ABSTRACT: A combination profile piece on Dr. John H. Marburger III, President Bush's top science advisor, and an overview of the role he plays in the administration. Many prominent scientists have charged President Bush and his administration with manipulating funding and supporting approaches that advance or match his own political views (on stem cell research, for example). Marburger has denied the charges.
