Venture Capital's Transparency Trouble
- Date: August 26, 2004
- QUOTE: ...there is a new and growing challenge to the closeted culture of venture capital...It's called the "transparency" problem in the inner circles.
- ABSTRACT: Venture capital firms have long operated outside of public scrutiny, but new court rulings have forced public institutions (e.g. pension funds) that invest in venture capital funds to disclose information about them. The venture capital industry has been reluctant to embrace the movement towards transparency, and some firms have ceased doing business with public institutions.
