Date Fairness.com Resource Read it at: Mar 07, 2012 More Angst Over Pepper Spray QUOTE: The UC police union and the former officer at the center of the controversy filed for the stay after hearing from a lawyer that the report would contain confidential personnel information, the release of which is prohibited under state penal code....Cruz Reynoso, the law professor emeritus at Davis and former associate justice of the California Supreme Court who was tapped to chair the task force, was outraged at the request – in particular, at its last-minute delivery – and worried that it could prevent the truth of what happened from coming out.
Inside Higher Ed Feb 08, 2008 Gossip and Slander at a Campus Near You QUOTE: An anonymous Web site that’s caught the attention — and provoked the ire — of students across the country has already unleashed comments...in carefree, unregulated and sometimes vicious discussion threads that have raised privacy concerns and condemnations on several campuses.
Inside Higher Ed Jun 01, 2007 Sense and Consensus QUOTE: Consensus, then, is the guiding principal of Jeffersonian executive action. And so it is in universities. Consensus-seeking slows down decision-making sometimes disastrously, but most of the time benignly — making universities the most conservative of organizations, which rarely lose their pants in fly-by-night schemes. So, while advancement is slowed, risk is minimized.
Inside Higher Ed Sep 21, 2006 Protect Your Privacy QUOTE: When you send a personal e-mail message on your university computer through the university’s server, do you feel secure in your privacy, or do you instead imagine Big Brother reading it?...Whether they are watching you or not, colleges do have fairly well defined policies in regard to appropriate use of e-mail. These policies give the institutions room to maneuver and employees enough room to hang themselves.
